Are you ready for summer? River Tubing

Other items coming up this season....

  • Marina Update:
We had excellent cooperation from DFO, Nav Waters and MB Conservation and with that the dredging for the marina is 98% complete.
The process was, we had to dredge the marina area first, leave a berm between this area and the river, let the sediment settle for two days and then remove the berm which would then give us full access from the marina to the river.
Everything was completed except for the removal of the berm as it became too soft and wasn’t safe for the equipment.  So at this time you have a great pool of water and a great river but no connection.  We hope to get this solved yet, late this spring or early this summer.  But if not the berm will be excavated this winter during freeze up.

Fabulous Changes & Upgrades at Asessippi this Summer:
We are significantly expanding our tubing park (almost double in size) plus we are installing the longest magic carpet on the prairies, at 650 feet long.  This magic carpet will be used by skier using the beginner hill and tubers using the tubing hill.  An outstanding addition making it much more comfortable for skiers and boarders on the beginner hill and our laughed so hard tubers.

    Long Term Planning:
We are meeting with our resort planner, architect and management teams over the next two weeks to bring this nearer to conclusion.  Lots of excellent ideas being discussed and we look forward to announcing our summer, winter and resort plans to you in the near future.

    Construction Update:
This summer we will be building cottages on Lot 116, Lot 2, Lot 96, Lot 4, Lot 104, and Lot 122.

We are looking at doing an artist retreat in mid-September.  The fabulous artist, Lance McLean, the son of world renowned artist Terry McLean, will be our artist in residence that weekend.  We guarantee you it will be a fabulous retreat, with lots of humour and one liners from Lance.  By the way he’s also a fabulous chef.

    Asessippi Music Fest:
What a fabulous line up this year.  Eight bands have been booked, including Kat Danser, Curtis Newton, Stoneypoint, Link & Bog River, All That Jazz, Accelerators, Swamp Gas, Honking Chadillacs, also on stage, Chad Lietold and Nathan Lahy

    Tree Planting:
This great initiative continues, so far this spring Tania & Lorne have replanted approximately 200 evergreens and it looks great.

    Cottage Cove Summer Maintenance:
We’ve hired a new employee, Tania Gibson one of our fabulous Australian staff to maintain Cottage Cove, while Pat is away on disability.  There are 18 projects on her list and you’ll see some great progress made this summer, from tree planting, vacant lots maintenance, grass planting etc.
