Resort Update
Our half million dollar upgrade to the bunny hill, beginner hill, tubing park and terrain park was a great success this past winter.  The 650 foot magic carpet called the Ollie Express has tremendous capacity and has made the experience for the guests on the bunny hill very comfortable and stress free.  Very easy to use for beginners and very comfortable for our tubers with outstanding capacity.  This winter many times, we counted 130 - 160 people on the bunny hill and terrain park which freed up approximately 40 chairs on the quad lift.  So the lift lines on the quad this year were near non-existent.  All this means, less waiting and more skiing.

Robins Run Terrain Park
We're so happy with the results with moving the handle from the bunny hill to the terrain park.  Lots of guests spending time in the park with their friends.  The music system in the terrain park was also a hit.

Downhill Snow Tubing
The doubling of the size of the tubing park was a great hit.  Lots of capacity, no line ups and lots more variety.  Tube all you want, non stop.

Riverview at Asessippi
All the infrastructure is now in, and we are partnering with a company that will be building four spec units this year, and hopefully will be ready for sale by this coming ski season.  This spring or this fall we'll be replanting some beautiful large scotch pines in the area that was cleared for infrastructure.

Riverview Hiking & Snowshoe Trails
That was a lot of fun this winter.  A beautiful trail along the river deep in the bush in the deep show.  Lots of guests snowshoed and many times we went from 9:00 pm or later, for a late night snowshoe.  It's so well treed and sheltered, that even when it was 30 below we were working up a sweat while snowshoeing;  It will be a great hiking trail to enjoy this summer.

Cottage Owners Fishing Family Tournament
As you know, everything that we do here, is with family in mind.  Marcel, Jeff, Farrell and Ron are working hard to organize our first annual Cottagers Fishing Tournament, which will be in June or July.

Beautiful Gingerbread House Decorating
Nothing warms a December like gingerbread. Shirley Campbell, Assistant Manager for The Russell Inn, has been sharing her passion for gingerbread houses with the staff there for years.
This year cottagers got a real treat when she brought her tasty craft workshop to our Christmas party and she will be back again. You and your family can spend an hour or two creating a masterpiece to take home with you.
This has become a huge tradition with Russell Inn staff and their families, and we are so very pleased that Shirley has offered to share this with our cottage cove families.

Après Ski
Now that was a hit!  Our second year in a row of 4:00 pm Après parties for cottagers.  Lots of laughs, lots of snacks, and even a family snow ball fight or two.  We look forward to doing it again next year.  Hot Chocolate, Marshmallows, a bit of beer or wine.  Rumour has it that Don Bonk, got bonked in the lip with a snowball, which  officially confirmed that the kids won and the adults lost the snowball fight.

Neighbourhood Watch, Cottage Cove Style
Last year, I told the story of how Pat was trying to clear the culvert of ice in preparation of the spring melt.  He couldn't get it unplugged, chiseled away at the ice with his spade and sure enough was spading the back side of a hibernating bear.  So that story prompted 4 little boys this winter to go see what they could find in the culverts.  Neighbourhood Mom Lindsey, texted Daymon for the number of the kids parents to advise them etc.  The parents went and checked it out and sure enough they were looking in the culvert, and the snow at the end of the culvert was melting, so we assumed that something was inside the culvert, producing heat.  Awesome parents watching out for all Cottage Cove kids.

Summer Season is Here!
And what a stunning time of the year it is at Cottage Cove.  Extremely beautiful, extremely green, and extremely peaceful.  Fabulous fishing on the Lake of the Prairies and the Shell River.  Great boating, tubing, and jet skiing.  And this area is known for having some of the best fly fishing in North America. This is a well kept secret, if you would like more information on the please feel free to call Lois Drielick 204-773-0409 or Daymon Guillas 204-773-7500.  At the end of your perfect summer day, enjoy it with outdoor fires, hotdogs and smores.

Subway Music Series in the Pub
What a hit that was.  Every Saturday in February and March, Subway sponsored the band to play in the Powder Keg Pub in the Resort.  Made for an awesome weekend.  Biggest decision at the end of your ski day on Saturday was do I go to the Après Party or do I go listen to the band in the Pub.

Future Home of Mountain Bike Park
As discussed, yes it’s coming but it will be delayed a little with our heavy maintenance costs this summer and our plans for next summer.  The Mountain Bike Park will be reviewed in the near future.
